The CX5010-0100 is an embedded PC module produced by Beckhoff and delivered within the CX Embedded PC Systems series. Designed for DIN-rail installation, the device combines PLC logic and industrial I/O management so that it can act as the central controller in compact machine or building automation nodes. Its integrated E-bus terminal interface links the controller directly to modular I/O slices without external couplers.

The computing core is a Intel Atom Z510 that operates at 1.1 GHz across a single processing core, which establishes deterministic cycle times for medium-sized control tasks. A 512 MB RAM module is soldered to the board, and this volatile memory stores dynamic variables and program code during operation. Non-volatile storage is provided by a 128 MB CompactFlash card, allowing the CPU to boot the control program and keep configuration data after a power cycle. For deterministic fieldbus or MES communication, the unit exposes two independent Gigabit ports through 2 x RJ45 sockets, supporting either separate machine and office networks or redundant ring topologies. Internally, the PC supplies up to 2 A on the system bus to power connected terminal segments.
