The CX2100-0914 is a power supply module in the CX Embedded PC Systems series manufactured by Beckhoff. It mounts directly beside a CX controller and furnishes regulated voltages for the internal buses and connected terminals, enabling the controller stack to drive field I/O without an external DIN-rail supply. In distributed industrial automation, the module conditions the cabinet’s 24 V line and delivers isolated output power that keeps logic, sensor, and actuator segments operating within electrical limits.

The housing measures 84 x 100 x 91 mm, allowing the unit to align with other CX components inside shallow enclosures. A nominal input of 24 V DC feeds the converter stage, while the enclosure achieves a protection rating of IP20, indicating finger-safe access but no resistance to liquids. Up to 100 W of output is available for downstream loads before derating occurs. Internal creepage distances support a dielectric strength of 500 V between the primary circuit and the low-voltage outputs, a margin that helps guard the embedded PC against control cabinet transients. Status of the supply, the K-bus, and I/O activity is reported through PWR, I/O Run, and I/O Err LEDs, and a two-line FSTN display provides additional numeric diagnostics.

The module delivers an I/O supply current of 2 A to the K-bus and can pass up to 10 A through its power contacts for actuators or valve islands. Self-generated heat is limited to 3.5 W, which eases cabinet ventilation planning. When paired with E-bus terminal rows, it can address as many as 65534 terminals, while the process image for classic K-bus devices remains fixed at 2048 bytes in and out. Spring-loaded connectors simplify field wiring, and the assembly weighs 695 g, helping keep the total controller mass low in mobile or suspended installations.
