The CX2043-0100 embedded PC is produced by Beckhoff as part of the CX Embedded PC Systems series. Designed as a compact industrial controller, the unit combines CPU processing, fieldbus interfaces, and local I/O coupling in one housing. This allows it to serve as the central platform for machine sequencing, motion control, or data logging tasks within automated production cells.

Processing capability comes from an AMD Ryzen V1807B 3.35 GHz quad-core SoC. Its 4 CPU cores allow parallel PLC logic, HMI services, and edge analytics without an additional rack PC. The system memory of 8 GB DDR4 RAM supports large program code and buffered process images, while the integrated AMD Radeon Vega 11 GPU provides hardware-accelerated graphics for local visualization. Network connectivity is provided through 2 × RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, enabling real-time fieldbus tunneling or dual-LAN segmentation. The controller accepts a 24 V DC power rail, supplies 2 A for attached Bus Terminals, and routes up to 10 A through its power contacts for downstream I/O segments. Persistent resources include 128 kB of NOVRAM for retain variables and a plug-in CFast slot for operating system images or user data.

The fanless aluminum enclosure measures 144 × 99 × 91 mm and weighs 1230 g, so it fits standard control cabinets without exceeding common depth allowances. Peak electrical demand is 70 W, permitting direct connection to compact 24 V supplies. Removable storage is handled through a CFast card plug-in slot, which simplifies operating system image handling and data transfer. Four high-speed host ports, listed as 4 × USB 3.2 Gen 2, provide connections for service laptops, vision cameras, or additional SSDs. With no preinstalled operating system or TwinCAT runtime, the unit allows a customized Windows or Linux build for application-specific real-time use.
