Product Description:
The CX2033-0175 is an embedded PC module produced by Beckhoff within the CX Embedded PC Systems series. As a DIN-rail controller, it merges CPU, memory, fieldbus interfaces, and industrial I/O handling to run PLC, motion, and HMI tasks in distributed automation cells. The device hosts the manufacturer’s real-time control environment so that machine sequences, safety interlocks, and data logging can execute directly at the equipment layer without a separate rack computer. By combining compact hardware with integrated networking, the unit reduces cabinet space and wiring while giving deterministic cycle times for pumps, conveyors, and robotic axes.
At its core, the PC executes the Beckhoff control stack under TwinCAT 3 Runtime, which schedules PLC and motion tasks on an AMD Ryzen V1202B processor. That x86-64 SoC offers 2 cores clocked at 2.3 GHz, allowing one millisecond task times for moderate axis counts. Application data resides in 8 GB DDR4 RAM, so trend buffers and recipe tables can be cached without swapping. For deterministic Ethernet transport, the board exposes 2 × RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet ports that support EtherCAT or standard TCP/IP topologies. Local operator panels and service laptops attach through 4 USB 3.2 Gen 2 connectors, each delivering up to 900 mA per port for powered peripherals. A Radeon Vega 3 integrated GPU drives external displays, and a 128 kB NOVRAM block secures retain variables against power loss.
The power subsystem draws a peak of 42 W from a nominal 24 V DC input. Internal conversion distributes isolated rails while meeting the module’s dielectric rating of 500 V between supply and low-voltage circuits. Two-amp terminal current and 10-amp power-contact capacity let the housing backplane feed a row of EtherCAT I/O slices without external breakers. An fTPM 2.0 secure element stores encryption keys to prevent unauthorized image loading. Environmental compliance is aided by conformal coating and fanless conduction cooling, ensuring continuous duty across typical control-cabinet temperatures.
