The CX2030-0125 is an embedded PC from Beckhoff that belongs to the CX Embedded PC Systems series. As a DIN-rail-mountable controller, it serves as the central processing unit in machine-level automation. It executes PLC logic, motion tasks, and visualization within compact control cabinets on the plant floor.

The device uses a dual-core Intel Core i7 2610UE running at 1.5 GHz, so deterministic IEC 61131-3 tasks and Windows services can run side by side without oversubscription of processor time. Two cores let separate real-time and user-space processes share cache resources while remaining isolated by the hypervisor layer. System memory is 2 GB DDR3-RAM, providing a workspace for TwinCAT variables, HMI objects, and operating-system buffers. Control electronics draw power from a 24 V DC supply and never exceed 27 W, which simplifies cabinet power budgeting and minimizes heat dissipation. The housing meets IP20 protection, indicating tool-free access is possible but the unit must be installed inside a closed panel. TwinCAT 3 Runtime (XAR) is preinstalled, so IEC tasks, C++ modules, or MATLAB® models can be deployed without extra middleware. Visual outputs are handled by the DVI-I interface, which drives monitors up to 1920 × 1200 for on-machine HMIs with full-HD resolution. Application data can be retained on the CFast slot, whose minimum capacity is 40 GB, and process variables that must survive power interruptions are secured in the NOVRAM bank of 128 kB.
