Product Description:
The CX2030-0111 is an embedded industrial PC manufactured by Beckhoff for the CX Embedded PC Systems series. It is supplied as a DIN-rail module that hosts the TwinCAT 2 PLC runtime, allowing direct execution of IEC 61131-3 programs, motion control, and visualization on the factory floor. By integrating computing power and fieldbus interfaces in a 144 × 99 × 91 mm housing, the device serves as the central logic element for machine cells that previously relied on separate PLC and gateway hardware.
Computation is handled by a dual-core processor, so the application has access to 2 processor cores clocked at 1.5 GHz. Cycle-time-dependent tasks store variables in 2 GB of DDR3 RAM, while 128 kB of NovRAM preserves retained data during a power loss. The electronics draw control power from a 24 V DC supply rail. Under full load, power consumption remains below 27 W, which simplifies cabinet thermal management. The Intel Core i7-2610UE CPU is paired with an HD Graphics 3000 controller for local display through the DVI-I port. The unit also provides 500 V of dielectric strength between the supply and logic circuits to withstand industrial transients.
The housing carries an IP20 rating, so the unit is intended for protected enclosures and supports toolless, side-by-side mounting with Beckhoff I/O slices. Two Gigabit Ethernet channels use 2 × RJ45 connectors supporting 10/100/1000 Mbit/s and accommodate real-time EtherCAT as well as standard TCP/IP traffic. For operator panels, the DVI-I interface supports display resolutions up to 1920 × 1200. Peripheral devices such as scanners or flash media connect through 4 × USB 2.0 ports, each of which supplies up to 500 mA. These integrated interfaces reduce the need for separate communication adapters when the controller connects to fieldbus networks, displays, and local peripherals. The compact format also helps conserve DIN-rail space in control cabinets containing power supplies, couplers, and other automation modules.
