The unit combines an industrial Intel platform, fieldbus interfaces, and onboard I/O expansion to operate as the central controller inside control cabinets where space and modularity are priorities.
The computing section is driven by an Intel Core i7-2610UE processor that provides two physical cores clocked at 1.5 GHz, enabling deterministic multitasking for IEC 61131-3 programs and Windows-based HMI software. Runtime data and user applications reside in 2 GB DDR3 RAM, while persistent process values are safeguarded by 128 kB of NOVRAM that retains information during an unexpected shutdown. Two independent Gigabit controllers terminate on 2 × RJ45 jacks, and their auto-negotiating physical interfaces support link rates of 10/100/1000 Mbit/s. This arrangement allows the PC to handle EtherCAT real-time traffic on one port and standard TCP/IP services on the other. A 128 MB graphics adapter drives local panels without occupying the system bus, and a dielectric strength of 500 V isolates the 24 V domain from external signals to reduce susceptibility to transients.
