The CX2020-0113 is an embedded PC manufactured by Beckhoff and part of the CX Embedded PC Systems series. It serves as a compact control platform that mounts directly on DIN rail segments, combining PLC logic, motion control, fieldbus communication, and visualization tasks in one device. This layout allows the controller to handle local automation processes while conserving space inside control cabinets.

The controller is driven by an Intel Celeron 827E 1.4 GHz processor that executes the TwinCAT 2 NC-I runtime for deterministic task scheduling. A main memory of 2 GB DDR3-RAM buffers the real-time operating system, user programs, and variable tables, enabling multitasking without external storage access delays, while peak electrical demand is limited to 21 W to simplify cabinet cooling. The unit accepts a regulated 24 V DC supply with a -15% to +20% tolerance; additional 10 A power contacts can pass higher loads through the backplane, while a separate 2 A feed supports the I/O terminals. The unit uses 2 × RJ45, 10/100/1000 Mbit/s Ethernet ports for Gigabit communication with EtherCAT, Modbus TCP, or standard LAN networks, and K-bus process data reaches 2048 bytes in each direction for larger I/O images.
