A single Arm Cortex-A8, 1 GHz processor provides deterministic integer performance for cycle times down to a few milliseconds. The unit uses 1 core, which keeps the processing architecture straightforward for compact control tasks. Program variables, visualization objects, and protocol buffers are stored in 1 GB DDR3 RAM, while the WEC7 boot image is kept in internal flash. Control power is supplied by 24 V DC, allowing direct connection to the cabinet auxiliary bus without a separate converter. Two independent NICs, exposed as 2 × RJ45 10/100 Mbit/s ports, support physical network separation between machine control and plant networks.

Software support includes the pre-installed Windows Embedded Compact 7 operating system, which provides a compact runtime environment suited to flash storage.
