Product Description:
The CX1800-0202 compact-flash image is supplied by Beckhoff for the CX Embedded PC Systems series. It is installed on the CX1000 embedded controller, adding driver and software components that support audio playback, Bluetooth connectivity, and managed code execution inside industrial control cabinets. By combining these functions with the PLC runtime, the same hardware can support machine logic, operator prompts, and short-range wireless links without extra modules.
The image activates the Geode Native Mode Audio Driver, but keeps the channel muted by default so audio is deliberately disabled at startup. Two driver revisions are included: version 1.0.10.0 supports controllers that still rely on the older V1.00 to V1.10 package, while version 1.1.50.0 meets the requirements of systems running version V1.12 or later. Physical outputs are routed through the optional CX1000-N003 audio module, which attaches to the system bus. To load the complete image and leave space for user programs, the controller must be configured with 64 MB Flash / 128 MB RAM. That combination provides enough nonvolatile space for the kernel and enough volatile memory for task switching, visualization, and driver stacks.
The runtime itself is delivered as a .NET image, allowing managed applications to run alongside the TwinCAT environment. Storage needs are modest, yet a minimum compact-flash capacity of 1 GB is required so logging and recipe data do not exhaust the boot partition. Wireless services are handled by the integrated Bluetooth layer, and profiles for HID, Modem, PAN, Serial are available for handheld HMI devices and cable-free PLC programming. These profiles use the Microsoft Bluetooth Stack, providing a familiar API surface and allowing security updates from the operating system vendor to be applied through standard maintenance procedures.
