The CX1500-B310-0003 is a fieldbus interface module produced by Beckhoff for the CX Embedded PC Systems series. Inserted into the CX backplane, it equips the controller with a dedicated PROFIBUS channel so that distributed I/O stations can be managed directly from the embedded PC. Within an automation cell, the module serves as the communication bridge between PLC logic running on the CX CPU and remote devices that follow the PROFIBUS protocol, allowing deterministic data exchange in real time.

The module supports PROFIBUS DP, DP-V1, DP-V2 (MC), enabling both cyclic process data and acyclic parameter handling. A dual-ported RAM of 2 kbyte buffers telegrams so the host CPU and the bus can access data without wait states.
