The CX1100-0930 is an uninterruptible power supply module manufactured by Beckhoff for integration with controllers in the CX Embedded PC Systems series. The unit attaches directly to a CX CPU and buffers the 24 V DC control voltage so that user data can be written to non-volatile memory or a controlled shutdown can be executed when the main supply fails. Within automated plants, this short-term energy reserve helps prevent data corruption and avoids undefined machine states during brief power dips.

The module operates from a nominal input of 24 V DC and links to the base CPU over the 16-bit ISA (PC/104) bus, allowing status and control information to be exchanged without extra wiring. A capacitance bank rated at 40 As stores the buffer energy, and it is recharged with a maximum current of 4 A once normal supply is restored. During a backup event, the unit can deliver up to 2.0 A to the attached CX system while its internal dissipation stays below 2 W. Normal service requires at least 4 A of supply current to guarantee full charge capability. Capacitive storage technology removes battery maintenance tasks and permits fast charge-discharge cycling.

The housing measures 95 mm × 100 mm × 91 mm and mounts between standard CX modules using a 5-pin open-pluggable power connector. Safe operation is specified from 0 °C up to +55 °C, and the electronics withstand relative humidity levels of 95% without condensation. For transport or long-term storage, the permissible temperature window extends from -25 °C to +85 °C. The enclosure carries the IP20 protection rating, so it must be installed in an enclosed panel free from conductive dust.
