The CX1030-0120 embedded PC is produced by Beckhoff within the CX Embedded PC Systems series. It serves as a programmable logic and motion controller for distributed automation cells, combining computing resources, fieldbus interfacing, and DIN-rail mounting in one module. By integrating directly with adjacent I/O terminals, the CX1030-0120 can replace larger panel PCs or rack controllers where cabinet space is limited and control functions need to remain close to sensors and actuators.

Its processing section uses an Intel Pentium M running at 1.8 GHz, giving the unit the computing capacity needed for machine control and related tasks. The main memory totals 256 MB DDR RAM, which supports logic execution, data handling, and operating system functions in a compact platform. Networking is handled through 2 × RJ45 10/100 Mbit/s Ethernet ports, allowing separate connections for machine-level communication and plant network access. Visual output is available through 1 × DVI-I 29-pin, so a separate graphics adapter is not required for display connection. A CompactFlash Type I+II slot accepts removable storage media, and two USB 2.0 Type A ports support external peripherals.
