The Beckhoff CX1030-0012 is an Embedded PC from the CX Series designed for industrial applications and is exceptionally powerful. It has an Intel® Pentium® M processor that operates at a frequency of 1.8 GHz and a significantly accelerated processing capability for the real-time control. The sole core of the processor focuses all energy into a single thread which is the ideal means to ensure consistent reuse by automation tasks.
This model has on board 256 MB of DDR RAM, this can be increased after purchase to 1 GB in the factory warranty. This allows the device to carry out wider applications in terms of the level of performance required. The included additional memory provides an already existing memory of 128 MB provided by the Compact Flash card slot which is available for expanding the memory as necessary. The CX1030-0012 is furnished with the second Ethernet port compatible with RJ45 and the corresponding network specifications 10/100 Mbit/s, additionally incorporating the internal switch. The cooling system used in the said device incorporates cooling module which has a replaceable fan cartridge with speed control and easily replaceable double ball bearing fan cooling modules thereby increasing reliability.
Diagnostic LEDs are provided for power and LAN status, LAN activity, TwinCAT status and flash access, to assist users monitor and trouble shoot the system. A battery powered RTC in the system assists in ensuring that the time and date is maintained even with loss of power to enable accurate time in undertakings that require it. The CX1030-0012 is based upon Windows Embedded CE 6 or Windows Embedded Standard 2009, accommodates TwinCAT 2 PLC runtime, NC PTP runtime, and NC I runtime so it can be employed for a number of automation and motion control purposes. It uses the 16-bit ISA (PC/104) system bus to interface with I/O devices and it connects using samba modules (E-bus, K-bus, or in IP-link).
