Product Description:
The CX1020-N010 is an add-on interface module manufactured by Beckhoff for the CX Embedded PC Systems series. It expands a CX1020 controller with local video and USB ports, allowing the automation CPU to drive a human-machine interface and connect service peripherals directly inside the control cabinet. In industrial installations, it supplies the physical connections required for on-machine visualization, data collection devices, and local keyboards without requiring a separate industrial PC. Power is supplied through the CX system bus, which eliminates the need for a separate module power connection.
Its enclosure measures only 100 mm in height, 51 mm in depth, and 19 mm in width, so the module occupies minimal rail space beside other CX segments. The faceplate carries a DVI-I 29-pin socket that transmits both analog and digital video signals, enabling connection to legacy VGA monitors or modern flat-panel displays with the correct cable adapter. Two adjacent USB 2.0 ports provide direct connections for flash drives, barcode readers, touchscreen controllers, and other compatible peripherals. These interfaces are positioned on the front of the module for convenient access after installation. The narrow enclosure allows the module to be installed beside other CX components without significantly increasing the width of the controller assembly.
The module has an IP20 housing that protects against accidental finger contact and solid objects larger than 12.5 mm, but it does not provide water protection. The DVI connection maintains image quality over cable runs of up to 5 m, accommodating typical distances between a control cabinet and an operator panel. Each USB port can supply a maximum current of 100 mA, which is suitable for low-power input devices, while equipment with greater power requirements should use a powered hub. Electromagnetic compatibility complies with EN 61000-6-2 / EN 61000-6-4, supporting operation near industrial drives, contactors, and other electrically noisy equipment. A built-in beeper provides basic audible diagnostic signaling. The module also supports VGA output through the analog lines of the DVI-I connection. Its resistance to vibration and shock is evaluated according to EN 60068-2-6 and related testing standards.
