The Beckhoff CX1020-0122 is an embedded pc system of the cx series family. It is intended primarily for use in industrial applications. With an Intel® Celeron® M ULV microprocessor of 1 GHz clock speed, it provides adequate processing power for control and real time applications. This is a single core processor and is ideal for automation systems needing a stable and continuous operation.
This model comes with 256 mb of DDR rams which can be upgraded to 1 mb giving room for greatly improved applications. The internal part of the CX1020-0122 embedded pc contains a compact flash memory card where 128 mb is provided for the operation of the pc and it is upgradable. Further this model is equipped with two rj45 ethernet ports that supply 10/100 Mbit/s with a built-in switch which controls the network communication over the attached devices. Passive cooling has been employed on the system though active cooling is possible for a place which requires more of heat management.
Module comprises of power with light winking, LAN link acting and winking, twin cat brightness and flash data making it effortless to keep up with the system. The internal clock is however battery backed and as such there will be no loss of information concerning the time & date even in the event of a power outage. The CX1020-0122 which operates under Windows Embedded Standard 2009 additionally provides TwinCAT 2 NC PTP runtime support which is usable for executing motion control tasks. The 16-bit ISA (PC/104) system bus and power supply module connectors such as E-bus, K-bus or IP-Link interface with I/O devices. When working with CFast cards, costly data loss is incurred unless the industrial CFast cards from Beckhoff are used.
