As a unit of the CX series, it is a combination of the functionality of the PC-based controller and the reliability of embedded systems to qualify for the usage in control cabinets and decentralized automation environments. With an Intel Celeron ULV 1.0 GHz processor, the CX1020-0111-1009 uses computing power to perform control, communication, and visualization operations at high efficiency. It has 256 MB of DDR RAM that can be upgraded to 512 MB, coming with 128 MB of Compact Flash memory, which can also be expanded to support operating system and user application needs. The system is pre-configured to run either Microsoft Windows CE or Windows Embedded Standard operating systems, both available at the time of purchase, which can then be customized for use with any given application. A variety of combined interfaces includes two 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports, four USB 2.0 ports, and a DVI-I port for connection of a display. The system can be either Beckhoff’s K-bus or E-bus for I/O integration, with easy scalability with other I/O modules.
