The Beckhoff CX1020-0022 is yet another Embedded PC belonging to the CX series, though smaller and with narrow dimensions, being targeted towards the industrial control systems. It is equipped with the Intel Celeron M ULV processor, at a frequency of 1GHz, which is stable and adequate for a real-time operating system. The processor is a single core and this makes it perfectly suited for control and automation work.
This model features 256MB DDR RAM which is upgradeable to up to 1GB, thus providing versatility in case higher performing applications are required. For data storage needs, the CX1020-0022 comes with a Compact Flash card slot, which is provided with 128 MB flash memory and is upgradeable to support storage of additional data programs. The CX1020-0022 has two Ethernet RJ45 ports each supporting 10/100 Mbit/s with built in switch for industrial devices that are networked and require constant communication. There is no fan in the system as cooling is done passive in nature, however for more demanding environments there is an option of active cooling provided.
