The CX1010-0111 is an embedded PC module produced by Beckhoff within the CX Embedded PC Systems series. Serving as a compact control platform, it combines a PC-based CPU and fieldbus interfaces to execute PLC logic, motion sequences, or HMI tasks directly on the DIN rail. In industrial automation, the unit replaces separate PLC racks and operator panels by providing computing resources, communication ports, and solid-state storage in one housing that can be installed next to I/O terminals.
Internally, the controller uses an Intel Pentium-class CPU clocked at 500 MHz, and the processor runs on a single core, which is sufficient for IEC 61131-3 tasks. A soldered 256 MB DDR RAM block holds active code and variables, while program files and boot data reside on the factory-installed 128 MB CompactFlash card. Additional application storage can be added through a CompactFlash Type II slot positioned on the front panel. For visualization, a DVI-I 29-pin socket drives digital or analog monitors, and supervision is supported by a 1 × RJ45 10/100 Mbit/s Ethernet port.
