The Beckhoff CX1000-N002 is a reliable integration of the scale of the Embedded PC CX series. It also supports the RS232 standard which is a standard device interconnection circuitry used in almost all devices in the automation system for proper communication. The module consists of two communication ports known as communicating devices, COM2 and COM3. The style of the connector is the 9-pin D-Sub which is the standard configuration for RS232 protocols making it very versatile in external device connections. || This device also comes with a max baud rate of 115 kBaud for data transmission capability. The signal assignments are also pin relative defined in a very systematic manner. For instance in COM2, Pin 2 is designated for RxD (Receive Data)>>, Pin 3 is for TxD (Transmit Data)>>, Pin 4 designed for DTR (Data Terminal Ready)>>, and finally Pin 5 is for GND (Ground)>>.
