A modular Embedded PC of the CX series, the Beckhoff CX1000-N000 is designed for scalable control system applications where compactness and cost-efficiency are top priorities. Its Intel-compatible processor and compatibility for Microsoft Windows Embedded CE or Windows XP Embedded qualify it for many industrial automation activities. At around 850 grammes, the CX1000-N000 is designed for DIN rail (top-hat rail) installation in control cabinets or junction boxes. The system is meant to be modular so only required parts may be utilized, hence lowering system complexity and cost.
This allows for complete control and communication even without a display or keyboard in "headless" mode. The gadget has four (04) USB ports and two (02) Ethernet connections to enable network segmentation or communication redundancy. RS232 and DVI connections also provide display connection and serial communication, respectively.
