Product Description:
The C9900-M912-1001 is an operator interface expansion module from Beckhoff in the C9 PC Accessories series. By combining digital, emergency stop, and foil-key signals inside a compact housing, the unit links a machine front panel to a Beckhoff Industrial PC and reduces point-to-point wiring. It serves as a centralized termination point in industrial automation, so motion controllers and PLCs receive organized low-voltage signals from the operator station. This arrangement is useful when pushbuttons, indicator lights, and emergency-stop loops are concentrated at the operator station instead of being wired individually back to the control cabinet.
The module provides 32 digital inputs for status signals such as sensor feedback and panel switches, while 48 transistor outputs can drive indicator lamps, relays, or other low-power actuators. Two independent emergency channels are routed through 2 NC safety contacts so the control system can interrupt operation when either loop opens. The front foil supports 24 foil-key inputs, and the front panel is rated to IP65 for panel mounting in dusty or splash-prone areas. The enclosure depth is limited to 68.5 mm, which helps the assembly fit inside shallow operator housings without crowding internal cable runs. Separating input collection from output switching helps keep front-panel signaling orderly and makes cable routing easier inside compact machine doors.
Electrical power is supplied at 24 VDC with a tolerance window of ±5%, and under normal load the board draws 0.6 A. Peak demand can reach 1.2 A when all outputs switch at the same time, so the supply must be sized for worst-case loading rather than average consumption. Eight external 24 V input lines allow galvanically isolated feed-through for field devices that require direct supply wiring. The aluminum faceplate is 426 mm wide and 126.2 mm high, giving space for the connector layout on the panel interface. The low-voltage supply format matches common control power distribution used in industrial panels and HMIs. Operation is permitted up to 95% relative humidity, and the assembly withstands 5 G shock in installations exposed to vibration or intermittent movement.
