Product Description:
The C9900-M911-1000 is an operator-interface extension produced by Beckhoff within the C9 PC Accessories series. Intended for installation beside a Beckhoff industrial PC, the unit concentrates manual controls, LED signaling, and safety switching into a single fieldbus node. By exposing pushbutton and lamp signals over Profibus, it reduces panel wiring and allows PLC software to react to local user inputs without additional distributed I/O terminals. This arrangement keeps the operator station close to the machine while the main computer remains in the control cabinet.
Supplied from 24 VDC (±5%), the module draws 0.6 A typical and 1.2 A maximum, letting it share the same 24-volt source that feeds sensors and contactors. Operators interact through 24 buttons, and each key drives one of the 48 LED outputs so status can be shown directly on the cap. Data exchange rides the Profibus link through a 9-pin D-sub Profibus connector, with the station address adjustable between 00 and 99. The cyclic telegram contains 4 input bytes and 6 output bytes, allowing the controller to read key states and write lamp patterns in a single scan. A 12-pin ST100 plug routes logic power and auxiliary lines, while two normally closed emergency-stop contacts provide a direct safety circuit that is independent of fieldbus communication.
With external dimensions of 426 × 126.2 × 68.5 mm, the panel mounts on machine guards or arm systems without excessive overhang. Its polyester-coated aluminum front achieves IP65, protecting the electronics against dust and low-pressure water jets used during plant cleaning. Continuous operation is supported across ambient temperatures from 0 to 55 °C, and the device can be stored down to -20 °C or up to 65 °C without degradation. Tested vibration levels reach 10–58 Hz at 0.035 mm and 58–500 Hz at 0.5 G, while impact tolerance is rated at 5 G for 30 ms. The rigid front panel also helps maintain alignment of the pushbuttons and indicators during repeated use.
