The C9900-H377 is a removable service medium produced by Beckhoff for the C9 PC Accessories series. Designed for automation environments that rely on industrial PCs, the unit allows a target controller to boot directly from the stick, capture system images, or support disaster recovery without opening the cabinet. By providing an independent operating environment, the device supports service work and helps return machines to operation after software corruption or startup issues interrupt normal plant use. Because it is removable, the same medium can be used across compatible Beckhoff industrial PCs that need offline backup or restore access.
At the hardware level, the stick uses SLC flash to maximize write endurance and presents two partitions: a hidden 1 GB system area formatted as FAT32 and a data area formatted with NTFS for image files. It supports both UEFI and legacy startup and RAM Boot, so the recovery environment runs from memory and leaves the host’s internal drives untouched during startup. The imaging environment is built for a 64-bit processor model, allowing it to address large disks and RAID volumes found in Beckhoff IPCs. The medium identifies itself as a USB mass-storage device, its partition count is fixed at two, and the user interface language is English, which keeps recovery menus consistent across supported systems.
Field deployment requires only 2 GB of system memory on the host and a port that meets the USB 2.0 standard; if the controller offers a faster USB interface, data transfer can improve automatically while preserving backward compatibility. The preinstalled Acronis build is version 11.7, enabling sector-based backups of Windows and TwinCAT configurations that exceed conventional size limits.
