The Beckhoff C9900-E789 is a control panel accessory for CP7842 and CP7942 panels, designed for control panel backplane mounting. The 45 LED membrane keys and USB-controlled 17- and 23-position graycode switches provide a well-engineered operator interface with precise input handling. Top- or bottom-mount flexibility and a direct-wireable Siemens Signum emergency stop make this unit especially effective for custom machine layouts.

Product Description:

The C9900-E789 is a Beckhoff accessory module that belongs to the C9 PC Accessories series. Installed alongside selected panel PCs, it extends the operator station with additional command, status, and safety hardware that can be wired directly into the machine circuit. This configuration adds localized emergency stop control, illuminated push buttons, rotary selectors, and a membrane keypad without increasing cabinet depth. Because these controls are integrated into the module, the operator interface remains centralized and external auxiliary boxes are not required.

The front plate carries 45 membrane keys with LED backlighting, and they communicate with the CPU through USB for programmable soft functions. Two USB-driven gray-code selectors provide 17 and 23 positions, allowing step-based rotary input for mode or recipe selection. For direct discrete control, the unit includes two lighted push-buttons, each built as a Siemens Signum Round device with normally open and normally closed contacts. A Siemens Signum key switch can restrict access to selected functions, while a Siemens Signum emergency stop button can be hard-wired into the safety relay chain.

The unit mounts on the control panel backplane and may be fixed at the top or bottom edge so that its push-button strip remains below the active screen area. Mechanical compatibility is provided for CP7842 and CP7942 display panels, and the rear bulkhead offers combined video and I/O links through DVI/USB, including an extended connection option for longer cable runs. When paired with a Rolec Tara Plus swing-arm system, the assembly can be positioned for convenient access while direct-wire contacts route to terminal strips inside the console. This layout keeps the display area clear and places frequently used controls on a dedicated strip beside the panel connection points.
