The C9900-C426 is a processor board in the C9 PC Accessories series. It is installed inside industrial PCs to run control logic, visualization software, and fieldbus management in real time. By using a dedicated CPU module instead of generic computing hardware, the board supports deterministic cycle times that are important for motion control, packaging, and assembly applications in industrial automation. It can serve as the computing layer for PLC tasks, HMI execution, and communication handling within a single control platform.
The board maps up to 4 GB of addressable memory, so large control programs and data buffers can remain resident without paging. Its core uses an Advanced Transfer Cache design, with the full-speed second-level cache integrated directly on the processor substrate to shorten latency between the execution units and main memory. Primary instruction and data storage is split into 16 KB + 16 KB of L1 cache space, allowing simultaneous fetch and writeback operations in each cycle. A dedicated 256 KB L2 cache holds frequently accessed code segments and variable tables to reduce external bus traffic when PLC task loads are high.
