Product Description:
The C9900-A183 is a graphics expansion card supplied by Beckhoff as part of the C9 PC Accessories series. Intended for installation inside Beckhoff industrial PCs, the board provides an additional digital video channel so that automation workstations can drive remote operator panels or large-format visualization displays directly from the control cabinet. By occupying a standard motherboard slot, it converts the host system into a multi-monitor node without requiring external converters, which is a typical demand in machine-level HMI applications.
Communication with the host takes place over a PCI Express interface, giving the card direct access to the system’s high-speed graphics lanes. The slot connection is x16, so it must be placed in a full-length connector to achieve proper pin assignment. Classified by Intel as an ADD2 board, it uses the internal graphics core of the CPU and maps the additional video outputs, minimizing power draw compared to discrete GPUs. The physical design corresponds to a Plug-In Card, allowing toolless insertion and retention inside the chassis. Beckhoff specifies use with ATX motherboards, aligning the bracket height and rear I/O cutout with standard industrial enclosures.
Video signaling is handled exclusively over DVI, and the card exposes one external connector on the slot bracket plus an internal header that can be wired to a front-mounted panel. The external port count is 1, which simplifies cabling while still enabling dual-display operation through the internal link. When the internal connector is routed to a CP-Link panel line, signal integrity is maintained for distances up to 100 m, making it suitable for large machines where the monitor is not near the controller. Driver support for the second output is available under Windows, allowing the automation software to map extended desktops or cloned views without additional configuration.
