Product Description:
The Beckhoff BX Bus Terminal Controller Series’ part, the BX8000-0000, is suitable for controlling a large number of peripheral devices and data. It has the capability of initially recognizing up to 64 bus terminals but can increase to as many as 255 terminals when a K-bus extension is added to cater to different application requirements.
All the terminals are capable of supporting up to 512 bytes of data input and 512 bytes of data output for Fieldbus communication and even more, 2048 bytes of data input and 2048 bytes of data output for process imaging to meet our data handling needs. On the analog I/O side, the BX8000-0000 is equipped with the capability to control and monitor a maximum of 2,040 digital I/Os. It also supports up to 512 analog inputs and outputs which provide the possible connection to the various sensors and actuators. The data transfer rates are diverse and the rates can range from 300 baud to 115 kbaud, depending on the existing conditions. This controller features two serial ports: COM1 with an RS232 interface and COM2 with either an RS232 or RS485 interface for connecting to other devices or networks. The FSTN display with blue backlight and the format of 2 x 16 characters is easy to read and understand to monitor and operate. A joystick switch has been provided for easy configuration and testing of the system.
The BX8000-0000 includes a battery-powered real-time clock that allows the system to keep track of time even when power fails. The voltage is 24 V with a tolerance of 24 V ± 15%. The input current is 140 mA plus the entire K-bus current divided by four, but no more than 500 mA. At the moment, the current delivered to the K-bus is rather high, at 1450 mA. The device is reasonably tiny and weighs around 250 grams; it may be utilized in a broad temperature spectrum of 25 to +60°C for running conditions and -40 to +85°C for storage, making it useful in a variety of applications. Wake Industrial offers this product with a one-year warranty.
