The BX5100-0000 is a bus terminal controller produced by Beckhoff within the BX Bus Terminal Controllers series. The device integrates a compact PLC with a CANopen master so that distributed bus terminals can be addressed directly from higher-level control systems. Mounted on a DIN rail next to standard Beckhoff I/O slices, it supplies logic execution, network management, and power distribution functions that simplify small and mid-range machine cells in industrial automation. This arrangement lets the controller manage local I/O updates while exchanging control data with the wider automation network.

Automatic baud detection up to 1 Mbaud lets the controller synchronize with existing CANopen segments without manual parameter entry. A local rack capacity of 64 terminals can be installed on the right-hand K-bus, giving access to mixed signal types that accumulate to 2040 I/O points. These variables are mapped into a dual process image of 2048 bytes in and 2048 bytes out for deterministic exchange with the internal CPU.
