Product Description:
The BK9055 Bus Coupler of the Beckhoff company is an EtherNet/IP protocol-based coupler. It supports configuration either via the KS2000 software or the TwinCAT controller used in industrial automation. The coupler establishes its connection via a single RJ45 port to ensure safe data transmission. The coupler supports 64 Bus Terminals and can be extended to 255 terminals with the use of a K-Bus extension.
The BK9055 bus coupler supports a maximum of 492 bytes of input data and 492 bytes of output data. Bus Coupler manages 3,936 digital peripheral signals and 122 analog peripheral signals. The IP address space dictates the number of I/O modules. The data transfer rate is selectable as 10 Mbit/s or 100 Mbit/s. The maximum distance between modules permitted is 100 meters. The contact voltage of power is 24 VDC, with a 10 A maximum power contact load. The BK9055 bus coupler employs twisted pair copper cable with 4 × 2 shielding for signal integrity. It accommodates category 5 cable for 100 Mbit/s or category 3 cable for 10 Mbit/s. Power supply is 24 VDC with a tolerance of -15% to +20%. Current consumption is 70 mA plus the total current for K-Bus, with a maximum of 4500 mA. Dielectric strength is ensured at 500 V over system connections.
The BK9055 bus coupler has a weight of around 100 g for light mounting. It is suitable for DIN rail mounting as per EN 60715 standards. It can withstand up to 95 percent humidity. The protection class is IP20 rated for indoor applications. EMC resistance against burst and ESD is as per EN 61000-6-2 and EN 61000-6-4 guidelines. The product is also resistant against vibration and shocks.
Frequently Asked Questions about BK9055:
Q: What is the benefit of the BK9055’s EtherNet/IP support?
A: The BK9055 offers seamless integration in industrial networks using EtherNet/IP, allowing easy communication with other devices. Product code BK9055 enhances data transmission reliability in large-scale systems.
Q: Why is a twisted pair copper cable used in the BK9055?
A: Twisted pair copper cable ensures signal integrity and reduces electromagnetic interference, which is essential for stable communication. The BK9055 uses this to optimize performance in industrial environments.
Q: How does the BK9055 handle different data transfer rates?
A: The BK9055 supports selectable transfer rates of 10 Mbit/s or 100 Mbit/s, ensuring flexible network compatibility. The 100 Mbit/s rate allows faster data exchange for larger systems with product code BK9055.
Q: How does the BK9055 ensure signal integrity over longer distances?
A: The BK9055 allows a maximum distance of 100 meters between modules, using reliable cabling and shielding for clear signal transmission. Product code BK9055 provides robust signal quality over extended distances.
Q: What makes the BK9055 suitable for harsh industrial environments?
A: With a high vibration and shock resistance rating (EN 60068-2-6 and EN 60068-2-27), the BK9055 is built to endure industrial conditions. This ruggedness is an advantage in factory automation.
