The BK8100 RS485/RS232 Bus Coupler is an input/output device made by Beckhoff, allows for the smooth incorporation of digital and analog signals into systems for industrial automation. The maximum input current required by the BK8100 RS485/RS232 Bus Coupler is 500 mA, and it works with a 24 V DC power source that can handle voltages ranging from -15% to +20%. At startup, the current must be 2.5 times the continuous current, and fuses with a rating of up to 10 A are advised. The coupler can handle fieldbus data input and output up to 512 bytes apiece, and it supports as many as 64 bus terminals. For a wide range of signal processing needs, the bus coupler is an excellent choice, since it can manage up to 512 digital and 256 analog peripheral signals. You can choose between 9.6, 19.2, or 38.4 kbaud for the data transfer rate, and the RS232 interface makes use of a D-sub connector with a 3 x 0.25 mm² shielded copper wire. Supporting solid, stranded, and ferrule wiring with precise cross-section ranges, the unit has a K-bus current supply rated at 1750 mA.
The BK8100 RS485/RS232 Bus coupler provides electrical isolation of 500 V between the power contact, supply voltage, and fieldbus, enhancing operational safety. It supports a relative humidity of up to 95% without condensation and complies with vibration and shock standards as per IEC 60068-2-6 and IEC 60068-2-27. The compact polycarbonate housing is designed for DIN rail mounting and includes signal LEDs for status indication.
