Product Description:
This second-generation Beckhoff EtherCAT Bus Coupler BK5200 from the BK EtherCAT Bus Coupler Series is designed to provide the optimal connection between EtherCAT communication and modular terminal input/output systems.
This bus coupler has 64 bus terminal connections, making it possible to expand the system to control and/or manage digital and/or analog signals within industrial applications. The BK5200 delivers a high data transfer rate for both digital and analog signals owing to its 512-byte input and output size for byte, digital, and data signals. It may be utilized for a wide range of automation applications because it contains 512 digital inputs and outputs and 256 analog inputs and outputs. With the use of KS2000 software or directly through the controller, these terminals can be readily modified to satisfy specific operating requirements. Data transfer rates are configured by a Dip switch that is easy to use and useful for controlling the data transfer speeds. The bus interface has a 5-pin open pluggable connector, supplied with the product, for simple and secure connection to networks. The data transfer medium used is screened twisted copper wire with a power supply; a 5-pin connector is recommended for safe and continuous data transfer. The power supply of BK5200 is 24 V DC, the tolerance is -15+/+20% and the power can be provided through a bus cable of 11-25 V.
It has a start current of about 2.5 times the continuous current and a recommended fuse not greater than 10A. The input current requirement is set to 70 mA with an additional ¼ of the total K-bus current but not more than 500 mA. Power at the K-bus is also evident through the provision of a 1750 mA current supply through the coupler. The device has several working modes such as; bit strobe, polling, cyclic, COS, and others that make it suitable to operate in different dynamic conditions of a system. Wake Industrial provides a one-year warranty on this product.
