Product Description:
The AMI8123-4100-3J10 is a compact integrated servo drive from Beckhoff in the AMI Integrated Drive Motors series. It combines a synchronous motor, encoder system, power stage, and fieldbus node in a compact housing so that motion axes can be mounted directly on machinery without a control cabinet. By decentralizing motion control, the device simplifies wiring and supports distributed automation tasks such as small pick-and-place heads, format adjustments, and conveyor sections that require precise torque and position regulation.
During operation, the drive exchanges process data over EtherCAT and uses passive convection cooling, eliminating the need for fan maintenance. Its multi-turn absolute encoder provides 17-bit resolution, retains the shaft position across power cycles, and tracks absolute position across 65,536 revolutions. The F2 flange has a width of 58 mm, while motor length class 3 helps maintain a compact profile despite the stator's J winding for distributed drives. The motor has no holding brake, so the connected machine must provide external load restraint when power is removed. The housing has an IP54 protection rating against dust and splashing water. The six-pole motor and MDP profile support smooth servo regulation at speeds up to 12,000 rpm. Integrated TwinSAFE logic provides the Safe Torque Off function for safety-related stopping without requiring a separate safety circuit at the motor.
The device operates at ambient temperatures from 0 °C to +40 °C and can be stored at temperatures from −25 °C to +70 °C without damage. During operation, it remains functional at 5% to 95% relative humidity, accommodating the moisture levels commonly encountered in factory environments. A rotor inertia of 0.376 kgcm² supports rapid acceleration and responsive positioning when paired with the unit's low mass of 2.05 kg. An IP65 radial shaft sealing ring protects the shaft opening from contaminants, while the grooved output shaft and parallel key provide positive torque transfer to the connected mechanism.
