Product Description:
The AMI8123-4100-1J11 is a compact integrated servo drive produced by Beckhoff within the AMI Integrated Drive Motors series. It combines a servo motor, power electronics, and an EtherCAT interface in one sealed housing. This integrated arrangement supplies decentralized motion control for conveyor sections, pick-and-place axes, and small handling modules in industrial automation. Placing the drive electronics near the controlled axis also reduces the amount of separate equipment required in a central control cabinet.
The drive develops a continuous mechanical output of 0.311 kW at a rated speed of 3000 rpm, delivering a steady output torque of 0.99 Nm. Short load peaks are supported by a permissible current draw of 18 A and a peak torque of 2.38 Nm. Electromagnetic behavior is set by a winding resistance of 0.410 Ω, a phase-to-phase inductance of 0.92 mH, six stator poles, and winding type J. Standstill torque is 1.00 Nm, while the rotor moment of inertia is 0.376 kg cm² without the brake and 0.448 kg cm² when the 24 V DC holding brake is fitted. Position feedback is supplied by a multi-turn absolute encoder that tracks 65,536 revolutions with 17-bit resolution, and its data are transferred through the EtherCAT MDP profile. Flange code F2 corresponds to a 58 mm mounting interface, while motor length index 3 indicates the stack height. A grooved shaft with a DIN 6885 key transmits torque to the connected machine component.
An enclosure rating of IP54 protects both the housing and shaft, allowing operation from 0 °C to +40 °C with convection cooling and at relative humidity levels from 5% to 95%. The mechanical design endures speeds up to 12,000 rpm without exceeding bearing or winding limits, and the unit weighs 2.05 kg before the brake is installed. Safety functions include TwinSAFE-based safe torque off with integrated safety logic. The unit can be stored at temperatures from -25 °C to +70 °C. Its multi-turn absolute encoder uses a 17-bit interface to retain detailed position information across repeated shaft revolutions.
