The unit acts as an electromechanical actuator that converts drive current into controlled force for pick-and-place axes, gantry stages, or high-speed feeders where precise positioning and repeatable velocity are required. Because motion is produced magnetically across a small air gap, mechanical wear is minimized compared with systems that convert rotary motion through a screw mechanism.
The motor delivers a continuous force of 360 N when the drive supplies 4.56 A of phase current, following a force constant of 79 N/A. For acceleration bursts, the winding tolerates 12.30 A and generates a peak thrust of 720 N without demagnetization. Magnetic poles repeat every 24 mm, providing the commutation pitch used with the encoder for smooth travel. The mover is 50 mm wide and contains 18 coils arranged in a normal winding pattern, allowing it to propel loads at speeds up to 4.5 m/s.
