The AL2403-0001 linear motor coil is produced by Beckhoff for the AL Linear Motors series. As a member of the company’s linear servo motor product range, this speed-wound coil section converts drive currents into linear thrust for pick-and-place modules, gantries, and packaging axes. The unit is installed opposite a toothed secondary track. By synchronizing its three embedded coils with the drive amplifier, it produces controlled forces that move the load without belts or gearheads, reducing mechanical backlash in precision automation.
The coil is engineered for an operating gap of 0.5 mm between the primary and the iron core, ensuring high flux density while avoiding mechanical contact. Under continuous excitation, it delivers 60 N of thrust at a phase current of 1.54 A. Momentary commands can raise the output to 120 N when the amplifier supplies up to 4.10 A. A static attraction force of 300 N must be countered by the machine structure during installation. Magnetic poles are spaced at a 24 mm pitch, and the three-coil layout produces a repeating sinusoidal force profile along the track.
