The X67AI1223 is an analog input unit produced by B&R Automation for the X67 Analog Input Output Modules series. Installed close to sensors, it digitizes field voltages and forwards the data over the X2X real-time bus, so the central PLC no longer needs long, noise-prone analog wiring. This placement lowers signal degradation and simplifies cabinet design in distributed industrial automation. It also allows analog signal acquisition to take place nearer to the process instead of routing every measurement back to a central enclosure.

The module converts each channel at 12-bit resolution, giving 4096 discrete steps across its ±10 V input span, so small variations in process signals remain visible to control algorithms.
