Product Description:
The X67AI1223 is an analog input unit produced by B&R Automation for the X67 Analog Input Output Modules series. Installed close to sensors, it digitizes field voltages and forwards the data over the X2X real-time bus, so the central PLC no longer needs long, noise-prone analog wiring. This placement lowers signal degradation and simplifies cabinet design in distributed industrial automation. It also allows analog signal acquisition to take place nearer to the process instead of routing every measurement back to a central enclosure.
The module converts each channel at 12-bit resolution, giving 4096 discrete steps across its ±10 V input span, so small variations in process signals remain visible to control algorithms. To cope with varying signal dynamics, the input filter is configurable in the software tool, allowing either fast reaction or stronger noise suppression. This makes the same module suitable for both steady analog values and signals that change more quickly during operation. Environmental endurance is supported by a sealed IP67 housing that tolerates dust and high-pressure water cleaning without additional enclosures. Field cabling connects through an X2X interface that uses a M12, B-keyed connector, and the metal collar provides continuous 360° shield grounding to reduce electromagnetic interference on high-resolution inputs.
The housing measures 53 x 42 x 85 mm, so multiple modules can be mounted side by side on a machine frame. Diagnostics are enhanced by built-in open-circuit detection, which flags broken sensor leads before they disrupt signal monitoring. A maximum station spacing of 100 m between nodes allows remote I/O to be distributed along large conveyors or material-handling lines without repeaters. Communication continues through a dual-port layout, and the unit provides 1 input, 1 output X2X channel so additional modules can be connected downstream while deterministic cycle times are maintained.
