The X67SM2446-1 is a remote stepper-motor controller and mixed I/O unit produced by B&R Automation within the X67 Analog Input Output Modules series. Designed for decentralized machine sections, the module drives two-phase motors and acquires sensor states through integrated digital channels. By combining motion control with field I/O, it reduces cabinet wiring and enables direct installation on moving axes or tooling fixtures in industrial automation. Its molded housing and M12 connectors support fully sealed operation beside conveyors and robotic arms.

The module provides high-speed feedback and discrete sensing. Its 1% current resolution allows proportional control of coil current, enabling fine torque regulation. 6 digital inputs detect limit switches through a sink input circuit. Sensor lines are energized at 24 VDC, and the unit continues to read a 20 mA input signal down to the specified minimum of 21 VDC. For internal logic, the unit draws 2 W from the 48 VDC rail, keeping dissipation low even when fully loaded.
