Product Description:

The X67SC4122.L12 is a safety-rated input/output module produced by B & R Automation for the X67 Analog Input Output Modules series. It provides decentralized digital safety signaling through IP67-class hardware that mounts directly on machinery, reducing cabinet wiring and preserving integrity in industrial automation networks. Each input-side channel includes a configurable input filter that lets the user delay recognition of transients or switch bounces as required by the application. This layout lets safety functions be placed closer to sensors and actuators on the machine.

This module follows a High-Density channel layout, so sixteen safety channels occupy one compact housing. Field wiring is completed through rugged M12 connectors, and the manufacturer specifies a tightening torque of 0.6 Nm to secure the mating plugs against vibration. The safe inputs are designated as Type A, and the module provides 8 of them for dual-channel safety sensors. The same housing also carries eight pulse outputs that source actuating signals for test pulses, and these outputs share the module’s 24 VDC bus voltage. Pulse-width timing of these outputs and filtering on the inputs can be matched through project settings to meet required reaction profiles.

Four safety power stages deliver actuator control. Their off-state monitoring achieves an OFF-signal switching time below <500 µs, meeting typical OSSD requirements. Both the pulse section and the safety power section deliver or switch a common supply of 24 VDC, allowing common sourcing across connected devices. Each safety output stage can continuously carry up to 2 A for solenoids, contactors, or pilot valves, and protection logic classifies the driver circuitry as Type B1. The output groups can be used for independent stop circuits, dual-channel actuators, or interlocked barriers without external relays while maintaining the stated current and switching performance.
