The X67DM1321.L12 module is produced by B&R Automation as part of the X67 Analog Input Output Modules series. Classified as a digital mixed unit, it mounts directly on machine frames and communicates over the X67 bus, bringing sensor signals and actuator controls to the controller through a distributed architecture. By combining input sensing and output switching in a sealed housing, the device simplifies wiring in industrial automation lines and supports decentralized control designs where short reaction times and compact mounting are required.
The module operates from a rated control supply of 24 VDC, so it can be powered from the same rail that feeds most PLC backplanes. It provides 16 freely assignable digital channels that the user can configure as inputs or outputs with the configuration tool. Each output path supports up to 0.5 A of load current, allowing direct actuation of pneumatic valves, relays, or indicator lamps without interposing relays. Field devices connect through shielded M12 connectors, and this circular interface maintains ingress protection while supporting convenient cable connections during installation and service. The high-density housing layout places all terminals and status LEDs on a footprint only slightly wider than the connector itself, conserving cabinet or on-machine space.
For counting applications, two fast channels accept pulse streams up to 50 kHz. The module assigns the results to two independent event counters that the controller can read cyclically for speed or length measurement tasks. Signal conditioning is supported by a configurable input filter, and selectable debounce times allow users to accommodate different sensor characteristics and electrical noise conditions without external hardware. The digital mixed module architecture allows high-speed counting and standard input/output functions to coexist within one device. Machine controls can therefore use edge detection, command outputs, and diagnostics through a single distributed node rather than separate dedicated cards.
