Product Description:
The X67DM1321.L08 is a distributed I/O slice produced by B&R Automation for the X67 Analog Input Output Modules series. Housed in a compact, fully potted enclosure, the unit brings analog and digital sensing directly onto the machine while maintaining controller communication over the vendor’s X2X real-time bus. In an automation cell, it serves as a field-level interface that samples sensors, drives actuators, and reports status to the PLC. Its molded, sealed housing allows installation outside a protective cabinet where compatible operating conditions are maintained.
The onboard counter accepts edge signals at frequencies up to 50 kHz, so high-speed proximity switches or flow meters can be monitored without losing pulses. A bank of 16 software-selectable digital channels can operate as inputs or outputs, allowing the same module to accommodate different signal arrangements. Logic power is taken from the machine’s 24 VDC supply rail, which is compatible with common safety extra-low-voltage wiring practices. The enclosure carries an IP67 protection rating, helping protect the electronics from dust and coolant splashes when the module is mounted directly on tooling fixtures. Each output path is rated for 0.5 A, enabling direct operation of suitable pneumatic solenoids or indicator lamps without interposing relays.
The signal block uses an M8 connector format, allowing premolded cord sets to connect securely while preserving the enclosure’s ingress protection. Up to 100 m between adjacent modules allows X67 stations to be daisy-chained along large conveyor lines while remaining within the network’s permitted distance. The X2X network is forwarded through an M12 B-keyed coupler that carries data and auxiliary power. The device provides one input and one output bus port, allowing it to be positioned at different points within a linear network. This port arrangement supports onward connection to another compatible X67 station without requiring a separate branch module.
