Mounted directly on tooling or conveyor frames, the module gathers on/off signals from sensors and pushbuttons and forwards them to the higher-level controller through the series bus coupler. Its compact, sealed housing allows installation outside the control cabinet so proximity wiring stays short and field devices can be powered locally. This layout helps reduce long sensor runs and keeps I/O closer to the devices being monitored.
The unit offers M12 connectors arranged for quick-disconnect sensor cabling, and it provides 16 digital input channels that share a common 24 V sensor supply. Each input uses a sink circuit topology, meaning the sensor switches the line to ground and the module detects the voltage drop.
