Product Description:
The X67DI1371.L08BR module is produced by B & R Automation and belongs to the X67 Analog Input Output Modules series. It is a decentralized digital input device that brings field-level sensors directly onto an X2X real-time network, reducing cabinet wiring and allowing machine builders to place I/O near the point of use. In a typical automation cell, the module receives sensor states and forwards them to the controller through its integrated bus coupler, simplifying distributed safety or sequence monitoring tasks. This arrangement also shortens sensor cable runs and helps keep machine wiring organized in compact installations.
This unit provides 16 discrete channels that accept a nominal input level of 24 VDC. Each channel is evaluated through a built-in filter of 1 ms, which suppresses contact bounce and short transients before the data reaches the CPU. Because the module uses sink inputs, connected sensors must source current toward the module’s common ground. This supports straightforward connection of common industrial proximity switches and contact devices. Field cables terminate on M8 connectors, and every M8 plug is fastened to the housing with a tightening torque of 0.4 Nm, helping maintain seal integrity during machine vibration. For panel attachment, the housing is designed for metric screws, and an M4 fastener passes through each mounting boss to clamp the body to a structural rail or plate.
The enclosure measures 155 mm in length, allowing room for status LEDs while still fitting inside narrow machine frames. Two mounting apertures with centers spaced 144.5 mm apart and diameters of 4.7 mm align with standard hole patterns, so the module can be installed on existing machine surfaces without added bracket work. Power and data leave the unit through an M12, B-keyed X2X link connector that forms a sealed daisy chain to the next node. Sensor heads attach via labeled M8 3-pin sockets, and the mechanical design keeps connector strain isolated from the electronics during repeated cable movement and normal machine vibration.
