Product Description:
The X67DI1371.L08 remote input module is manufactured by B & R Automation within the X67 Analog Input/Output Modules series. Intended for machine-side installation, it digitizes field contact signals and transmits their states over the manufacturer’s real-time X2X network. Moving I/O from the control cabinet to the process shortens sensor wiring runs, preserves signal integrity, and provides deterministic feedback for packaging, assembly, and material-handling systems that use distributed industrial automation. Its encapsulated design resists the oil and vibration commonly encountered on moving axes.
The module offers 16 isolated input channels that operate from a nominal 24 VDC field supply. Each channel uses a sinking topology, meaning the connected device draws current into the module’s common reference. A front-end filter with a response time of 1 ms suppresses mechanical contact bounce while accommodating the PLC scan rates used in motion sequences. The module maintains a high-density footprint because every signal is routed through a single M8 connector. To protect the plastic threads, the coupling nut should be tightened to 0.4 Nm. The inputs accommodate inductive proximity sensors, mechanical limit switches, and optically isolated outputs commonly found on industrial machinery.
A base plate with a thickness of 1.5 mm keeps weight low while providing sufficient stiffness for clamped mounting to a frame. The M4 mounting screws may be tightened to 0.6 Nm to secure the module. Bus wiring is daisy-chained through an M12 B-keyed receptacle with one input port and one output port, allowing additional X67 nodes to be connected without external hubs. The X2X network permits a maximum station distance of 100 m from the preceding module, so local I/O islands can be positioned on robotic arms, linear slides, or mobile tooling carts without reducing timing accuracy. The distributed arrangement also allows field devices to connect near their operating locations while the network carries their input states back to the controller.
