The X67DC1198 module from B&R Automation is a part of its X67 series of IP 67 rated modules. The unit offers a world of freedom to its users owing to the ability to expand multiple times using optional expansions for any future upgrade requirement. It takes up minimal space in the control cabinet as compared to traditional modules and also requires less wiring which enables it to commissioned very quickly. The module can be commissioned for machines as simple as a singular machine to an entire plant and can comfortably meet the requirement of both. The unit can be serviced easily owing to its simple configuration that is easy to understand by less technical professionals too.
The X67DC1198 offers a 500 VEff if isolation voltage between the encoder and the bus. The unit consumes power of 2.8 W internally and 0.75 W power is consumed by the X2X link. The modules requires a suppply currrent of 0.5 A and also comes with status indicators for I/O, bus function and power supply. The module can also be diagnosed using LEDs via the software and comes with a world of connection technology comprising of M12 A-coded and M8 4-pin connectors. The unit operates with a nominal voltage of 24 VDC and also with a voltage range of 18 to 30 VDC. The maximum power consumption is 12 W for connected actuators/senors.
