Product Description:
The X67BCE321.L12 is an analog input/output module manufactured by B&R Automation for the X67 Analog Input Output Modules series. It serves as a distributed field unit that brings sensor and actuator wiring directly to the machine frame while maintaining communication over the X2X real-time bus. Able to combine incremental counting with standard on/off control, the module streamlines compact machine architectures and reduces the amount of wiring routed into control cabinets in demanding automation environments.
The module provides 16 digital channels, each of which can source or sink field devices at 24 VDC with a per-channel limit of 0.5 A. This channel capacity allows the module to read multiple sensors or drive several solenoid valves within a single node, minimizing network traffic and simplifying field connections. For motion-related feedback, the first two inputs can operate as incremental counters at frequencies up to 50 kHz, capturing edge transitions from encoders or proximity sensors without relying on the host CPU. Signal reliability is improved by a configurable input filter, which allows longer debounce times for mechanical contacts or shorter response times for fast electronic signals.
The single X2X interface supports deterministic communication and delivers up to 15 W of X2X link power, allowing local sensors to receive power without additional wiring. Connection is made through an M12 plug that follows the B-keyed coding standard, helping prevent accidental cross-connection with other fieldbus variants. When an application requires higher-level Ethernet integration, the same housing provides a PROFINET interface. The module can therefore operate as an I/O device on PROFINET segments while retaining native X2X timing. A permissible twisted-pair cable length of 100 m allows the module to be installed remotely on tooling arms or mobile carriages. Two hardware event counters support batch counting or machine-cycle tracking directly at the field level.
