Product Description:
The X67BC8513.L12 module is produced by B&R Automation as part of the X67 Analog Input Output Modules series. Designed for machine-mounted installation, this unit extends distributed control systems by combining analog measurement and discrete signal handling inside a sealed housing. It acquires process information, drives loads, and transmits data through a real-time network, allowing compact decentralized architectures on conveyors, packaging lines, and assembly stations.
It provides a single analog input channel that can capture voltage or current signals with a 12-bit conversion depth, giving 4096 discrete steps for mid-range precision tasks. The sensor lead enters through a M12 connector that also carries the reference potential, which simplifies field wiring. Twelve discrete lines are available for on-board logic, and they accept a nominal 24 VDC supply, while each sourcing output is limited to 0.5 A to protect downstream devices. A dedicated event counter supports edge detection for high-speed transducers, and it can count one track at frequencies up to 50 kHz. The input filter is configurable, so acquisition bandwidth can be adjusted for noisy environments or slower processes.
Communication with the controller takes place over the POWERLINK protocol, ensuring deterministic cycle times even when modules are distributed along the machine. Within the line, the housing measures 53 × 155 × 42 mm, and its High-Density layout places multiple channels in a compact footprint. The shell meets the IP67 protection rating, so it resists washdown splashes and airborne particles without additional enclosures. Power for the internal electronics and the X2X backbone is drawn from a 15 W link supply, which keeps thermal dissipation within the cast body. The unit can be mounted directly on tooling instead of inside a separate control cabinet.
