Product Description:
The X67BC8331 is an I/O module produced by B&R Automation in the X67 Analog Input Output Modules series. It installs at machine level to gather sensor signals and drive actuators while communicating over the vendor’s X2X real-time fieldbus. By combining power distribution and data exchange in a compact housing, the unit helps reduce cabinet wiring and supports automation functions on moving or space-constrained mechanisms. This arrangement is useful when sensors and actuators need to be mounted close to the process instead of being routed back to a central control cabinet.
This module provides 8 digital channels that can be configured as inputs or outputs, letting users assign points according to the machine’s signal map. Each channel can source or sink up to 2 A, allowing it to actuate solenoid valves or read higher-current proximity switches without external relays. Field devices connect through rugged M8 plugs that seal against dust and splashing liquids. Data transfer to the controller occurs in a Synchronous update cycle so that all channels change state on the same network tick, which supports deterministic motion and coordinated machine logic. The channels share a supply of 24 VDC, a common control voltage in industrial panels that simplifies integration with other low-voltage devices.
Signal reliability is improved by a Configurable input filter that lets users set the debounce period to match sensor response times and reject electrical noise. The housing also integrates 1 POWERLINK port for higher-level Ethernet communication, giving the machine a direct connection to supervisory control systems. The upstream X2X bus enters through a shielded copper medium and continues through a M12, B-keyed connector that stays locked under vibration. Only 3 W are drawn from the X2X link supply, which helps limit heat buildup inside the enclosure and leaves more system power available for other distributed modules.
