Product Description:
The X67BC8321 is a remote I/O module produced by B&R Automation for the X67 Analog Input Output Modules series. Designed for installation directly on machinery, the block aggregates mixed-signal points and forwards them over ETHERNET Powerlink to the central controller. By locating signal conversion at the field level, it reduces cabinet wiring and supports decentralized counting, switching, and feedback tasks in industrial automation.
The module offers 8 configurable digital channels that can each operate as an input or output, providing flexibility when machine layouts change. Two integrated counters handle incremental sensors; each counter is 16 bits wide and accepts pulses up to 50 kHz, so fast position or speed signals are captured without loss. The field device communicates through ETHERNET Powerlink 100BASE-T at a sustained transfer rate of 100 Mbit/s, and its sink-type input circuit and source-type output circuit support common PNP wiring arrangements. A system voltage of 24 VDC powers the electronics, while galvanic isolation rated at 500 Veff shields the logic from field transients. A fully overmolded housing and sealed connectors provide an IP67 protection rating, allowing direct mounting on tooling or conveyor frames exposed to washdown or dust.
The unit supports a combined load of 4.0 A across all outputs, while each individual channel is limited to 0.5 A to keep wiring and connector temperatures within operating limits. An internal DC-DC stage provides up to 3.0 W of X2X Link power for neighboring modules, eliminating the need for a separate auxiliary feed. Cable segments may extend up to 100 m between nodes without repeaters, allowing long machine lines to share a single network backbone. The aluminum and plastic body measures 53 × 85 × 42 mm, so it fits inside tight mounting cavities on robotic arms or tooling plates.
